HB-1260 Information Page
Colorado’s HB 22-1260 titled “Access to Medically Necessary Services for Students,” mandates that by July 1, 2023, every administrative unit must adopt a policy ensuring that students with a prescription from a qualified healthcare provider receive their medically necessary treatments in schools, as per federal and state laws. The policy must be public on the unit’s website and accessible to parents or guardians upon request. Starting 2024, units must annually report to the Department of Education the requests for and denials of access to private healthcare specialists in schools. This information will be publicly available and reported to the legislature annually starting in January 2025.
