Lisa Ankeny Memorial Fund

Lisa Ankeny was a tireless advocate for individuals with developmental disabilities throughout her life. Even at the time of her death, she was more focused on helping others than herself, which would be no surprise to anyone who knew her. Lisa was in a league of her own and a relentless advocate and empathetic clinician. Beyond the level of clinical and natural skill she possessed, Lisa always worked with an incredible compassion for others that was unmatched. Any family she has worked with has sung her praises for “getting” their child in a way no other person could and making a difference. Her endless knowledge and inspirational mentoring of others has led to a whole new generation of motivated clinicians who will go on to continue the meaningful work that she has fostered. Above all, Lisa was always committed to making sure everyone had high quality evidenced-based services and the access to care they needed. It was Lisa’s wishes that this fund was set up to help move critical issues that impact clients and families in the state of Colorado. As per her wishes, the funds will go to legal and lobbyist support to address medicaid rates, expanding accepted billing codes for treatment, and medically necessary services in the school setting.
