New Member Benefit: Free Access to Insurance Rate Data via Camber

We’re excited to announce a new exclusive benefit for your Colorado Association for Behavior Analysis (COABA) membership: free access to industry-leading insurance reimbursement rate data through our new partnership with Camber.

What this means for you

As a COABA member, you now have the opportunity to access aggregated reimbursement-rate analyses that can help inform your business strategy and support sustainable contracting.
Camber leverages publicly available payor data (via the Transparency in Coverage Rule) and other verified sources to build usable insights specifically for ABA providers.

This means you can:

  • Compare your own negotiated rates with regional and national percentiles
  • Use benchmarks to inform discussions with payors, schools, referral partners, or legislators
  • Advocate for appropriate reimbursement levels—armed with data instead of anecdotes

How to access your benefit

Free Access to Insurance Rate Data via COABA website using your COABA account. Click  https://coaba.org/camber/.

  • Identify your state(s) of practice and the payors you serve.
  • Review the available rate-data reports and dashboards.
  • Use the insights to inform your internal strategy or policy advocacy.
  • Camber’s portal allows you to request analyses for over 100 payors across the country.
  • If your specific payor or region isn’t yet covered, submitting a request helps Camber prioritize future updates.

Important legal and ethical considerations

It’s important to clarify how this data may and may not be used to ensure compliance with antitrust law and avoid prohibited rate-setting behavior:
✅ You may review this aggregated data for your own business and advocacy efforts.
✅ You may use it to benchmark your rates, prepare to negotiate, or show legislators the reimbursement landscape.
❌ You may not use this data to coordinate, fix, or set specific rates with other providers. (Such conduct could raise antitrust concerns.)
✅ Sharing aggregated market benchmarks is permissible; sharing individual provider negotiated rates or coordinating specific pricing is not.

This tool empowers informed decision-making and advocacy—without violating federal antitrust regulations.

Why this matters for Colorado ABA providers

Colorado’s ABA reimbursement landscape remains challenging. Recent analyses show that Medicaid ABA rates in Colorado may be significantly below benchmark averages in comparable states.
With data in hand, you’ll be better positioned to demonstrate what sustainable reimbursement looks like—not just for your organization, but for the field across Colorado.
