Defend Access to Care: Support COABA’s Public Policy Initiatives
The Colorado Association for Behavior Analysis (COABA) is on the front lines, protecting the rights of behavior analysts, RBTs, and the individuals and families we serve. Right now, we are pushing back against a recent state-issued RBT memo that places unnecessary and harmful restrictions on the delivery of services. These changes threaten access to care for countless children and families who rely on ABA therapy.
We are prepared to take legal action if necessary—and your support makes that possible.
Why This Matters
The RBT memo’s restrictions could:
-
Reduce the availability of qualified providers.
-
Increase service delays for families already on waitlists.
-
Create barriers for medically necessary treatment.
COABA is working tirelessly to challenge this through education, advocacy, and, if required, legal avenues under the Administrative Procedures Act. This fight is about preserving access to high-quality ABA services and preventing precedent-setting policies that could harm our field for years to come.
Matching Funds Available Now
A group of committed donors has pledged matching funds to help cover COABA’s legal fees for an Administrative Procedures Act suit that may be brought against the state. This means every dollar you give today will be doubled—immediately multiplying your impact.
Your Donation Supports:
-
Legal Representation & Fees – Ensuring COABA can take strong, timely action against harmful regulations.
-
Policy Research & Testimony – Presenting evidence-based arguments to policymakers.
-
Member & Community Mobilization – Uniting providers, families, and allies to speak with one voice.
-
Ongoing Legislative Monitoring – Preventing harmful policy shifts before they take hold.
Act Now
We cannot afford to wait. The state’s harmful policy changes are already in motion, and legal timelines are short. With your help—and the current matching funds—we can give COABA the resources it needs to defend access to care.
Donate today to protect ABA services in Colorado and stand up for the families and professionals who depend on them!
